I moved in Oct and changed my address on all necessary mail, and at the post office. I recived my statement for three months, then i stopped recieving it. Due to the 100 other bills i pay each month i did not notice. I finally thought about it and looked at my account online.
I found that i had not made a payment since jan months after i moved and they increased my rate from 20 to 28%, charged a 39.00 dollar late fee every month not to mention this had put me over my limit, and the finance charges on top of it all.
I called them and tried to sort the whole thing out, after being messed around for 2 days it was determined that they had already sent my debt to a collection agency!!! The day before it was different and so i made a payment of 500 and schedualed another payment to be made in a couple weeks, so they already too 500 and i had to cancell the other payment.
I got the number for the collection agency, nievly thinking i could sorth out this situation my self, the said pay in full or pay 400 dollars a month, Hello if i had the money the card would already be paid off!
Obvously they could not do anything for me, so I called a lawer and explained whay happened. He told me to contact The attourney generals office of consumer fraud!!! So that is what I did. He also said after most companies get the complaint from the atourney general they want to settle with you.
The atourney generals office is sending me some paper work I am praying they can help me!!
