Daily Direct motorcycle shipping company clearly states on their nice and shinny web page that they can provide you (the consumer) a "pick up" of your motorcycle within 7-10 days from the time they receive your contract and payment (which they want up front). The also sell themselves on the fact that their average overall pick up and final delivery times range between 14-28 days (total) with some shipments taking less time (3-5 days). Of course they have to add that these are average time frames, which they clearly use to their advantage.
Ok folks here we go.
I sent my paid contract to them on June 6, which led me to believe my bike would be picked up some time within the next week of so (7-10 days) and I'm pretty understanding, but. Not the case!!! As of today July 3 my bike still sits waiting to be picked up, which is now almost a full month from the date I sent them a paid contract. I have spoken to many employees who have provided me a slew of reasons and excuses as to why my bike has not been picked up (sick drivers, injured drivers, weather, etc, etc). I have even been offered a full refund if I cancelled my order. That showed me how important I was right there since they wanted to just drop my contract.in addition they have changed pick up dates without informing my pick up person or I and then they stated they would charge me $100.00 for a no show fee. How can you charge someone when you changed the scheduled dates and fail to tell either party?
I did not cancel my contract because they have already wasted almost a month of my time and have my money so it would be an even lengthier ordeal due to their driver running way behind their offered time frame of 7-10 days pick up time and 28 days for the overall delivery. I have now been told they will finally pick up my bike on July 4 so we shall see.
That is not the end of this saga. Once they supposedly pick my bike up they then drive back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they unload the bikes and then ship them out west where I live. So, who knows how long it will take once they actually get out west. If Daily Direct was honest and up front in the beginning with me and informed me they were running WAY BEHIND I would not have too much of an issue with them (yet). They sell themselves with timelines but they are fully aware they can't offer these selling points.
I would not trust these guys with deadlines, etc and I just hope my bike arrives before 2009 and in the pristine condition I purchased it in.
