I just bought a brand new Dodge Caravan 2008.
Before calling the Glendale dealership I had called around other Dodge dealership to get the feel for price gouging or simply ripping off customers.
Average price for the remote starter for the same vehicle was $500!
I called the Glendale dealership to find out how much will it cost for a remote start (parts and installation). I was quoted by Brent in parts department $229 parts $771 Labor= $1000 Tax).
After questioning the labor cost, I was told it takes 7-8 hours (@ the rate of $95/hr, time: comparing at removing an engine from a car) to install a remote starter and it is a cumbersome job!!! Upon confronting the parts guy regarding other dealership charging half the cost, he kept reiterating the labor.
It is clear these guys are just imbecile or just out there to ripp off customers.
I just want to warn others to avoid these idiots and take your business to other dealership, which, I have done. Also, call few dealerships for qoutes before taking it to any dealership for any work!!!
