My daughter took her Jeep Cherokee into the dealership to repair a couple of problems. The first was a broken power window regulator and the second was a defective electronic relay for the cooling fan.
The dealership charges $110 per hour for labor rate, which is outrageous! The parts and labor for the window repair was about $569. The dealership charges about 20-30% more for their parts than indentical parts here in Montana.
On the second part of the repair for the relay, the dealership charged $110 labor to install a $20 part that takes thirty seconds to unplug and replace with the new part. This is my major complaint. My daughter already had spent almost $600 to repair her window, and they were so nice to charge her an additional $110 for plugging in a new relay.
Prior to them working on the relay, I told my daughter what the problem was and what she should have them replace. They told her that they had to do a diagnostic check and that was half an hour and their minimum charge for any electrical part is half an hour. They did not have to do a diagnostic check because she told them what was wrong.
They took advantage of her because she is young and female. The additional charge for the $110 labor was completely unjustified. They are just gouging people on price. Especially young women.
