Today I received a phone call with lady saying I am offering you a mastercard with no credit check. Do you have a checking or savings account?
I asked what Bank would the credit card be from and the lady said Bank First.
I said yes but we dont qualify for a credit card because we have filed bankruptcy because of our mortgage and I want give my bank account information out. She said my supervisor will now speak to you.
Next a male voice came on the phone that sounded to me like a recording. He said that PLATIUM Benefit Group is going to send you a mastercard for $164.00 that you can use for making hotel reservations, purchase items you need and even get cash if you need it if I am talking to fast you can hit key and i dont remember which key he said and then he said you can send a money order or check to this address
16807 US Hwy 19 N Clearwater Florida 33764 and on a piece of paper write down full name, address, home phone number, birthday, social security number, your mothers maiden name and yor e-mail address if you have one and your mastercard will be mailed to you so you can start rebuilding your credit.
He said if I had any questions to call Customer Service at 1-800-331-7020
If you want me to repeat this hit the # key.By mistake I hit the star key and we disconnected.
I looked on my caller id to see information and it showed tollfree number
10:37am May 29 and number was 1-866-404-8370
I was suspious because of the message sounding like a recording and even though we need a credit card for example making a reservation I knew we could not get one since we are in bankruptcy and being on pension and social security only income a credit card would not be possible at this time.
I then went to my computer and typed the Bank First in and then Platium group and found information that i had suspected to find.
I also read about the mail offer scams and this to we received a offer to get a charge card for $7500.00 to purchase furniture and other things directly from the internet site. Dont remember name I shredded this offer up.
Received letter offer of credit card with high fees and a deposit but I shredded this up too.
