My bank account was charged via my debit card (check card) 3 separate charges on 05/27/08. The charges are all from Skype.com (London) and are for the amounts of $. 59, $10.00 and $19.83.
I have never done business with Skype.com, have never heard of them before this incident, do not have an account with them and certainly have never authorized them to make any charges to my bank account.
I logged onto their website after seeing the bank charges in order to file a complaint and found that there is absolutely NO WAY to contact anyone unless you have an account, which I do not.
I have contacted my bank and they are investigating the charges and because of this incident, have had to close out my debit card and issue me a new one.
I have no idea how they received my bank account information. I do business with Ebay and have noticed that they are affiliated with Skype.com. After contacting Ebay, they deny having anything to do with the charges to my account.
