United Processing Legal violating state collection policies

I received a call today from a man with a heavy indian accent who stated that his name was James Brown. He left a voicemail messages on my phone stating that he needed to hear from me immediately as this was a time sensitive situation. He further stated that my residence, address and last four digits of my social security number had been submitted for legal action and that it was a case of fraud. He stated that I should call him back immediately and if I could not call him back immediately that I should leave and go to an area that I could not be found. He indicated that the police have been notified and that I would be arrested.

I have had this same phone call before from the same company. The last time when I called back I had told the person calling that, "My lawyer wanted to know what information was needed and what this case was regarding"... I was immediately hung up on.

Prior to this phone call, I had received a call and was told that this was regarding a loan of $300 that was unpaid and that I committed fraud. I was also told that I had 30 minutes to get the loan plus $420 of other fees for a total of $720 paid to them or the police would be at my residence to arrest me. I immediately went into panic mode and I was then told that if I could send $350 via Western Union that he could hold off the arrest for two weeks for the remaining $370 to be paid.

I received the money from a family member in fear that I would go to jail. Being a single mom of two children, I couldnt risk this. The next day when I could get on the internet, I did a web search for this company and I found several reports of fraud. And in all the instances, everyone was treated the same way. It was harder for me to locate the actual address because the numbers that I am being given to return the calls to are all in Texas.

I contacted the attorney general's office in Florida immediately. This company has been reported to the attorney general's office and to the State Collections office. I was told that I CAN NOT be arrested, there is no DEBT JAIL, and that this is ILLEGAL. I am currently fighting this as I paid more than the amount of the loan.
