Sounds great right? WRONG! They claim they to "direct marketing" to business and are employed by top companies like the Oakland A's and Pizza Hut. Ya right! What it really boils down to is they take you on a long and involved 8 hour training session with your "manager" and they show you how to go door to door to businesses trying to sell stupid coupon books. You get kicked out as soon as you walk in of 80% of the businesses. I just thought this was a really crappy thing to do because for someone like me who has good experience (3 years in management) they post this bullcrap ad totally misrepresenting what it is they do and waste the valuable time of people like me with college degrees who would no more do door to door sales of retail products than I would work at McDonald's. Not that I am downing people who work there, I worked there from 16-17 years old. But with my experience and education, I would certainly never do it again, nor would I do door to door retail sales.
So for all you folks out there in Sacramento, just thought I'd save you time and gas money. It's not what they pretend it is.
Oh ya, and they want you to give them your driver's license # and social security number on their application. As if!
The company here in Sac is called Northstar Marketing, but their phone number is registered to Merrimack Group. Their web sites are almost identical.
