I sent a 500.00 deposit for pick of the litter on a German Shepherd puppy. The mother did not get pregnant and the owner never notified me of this. When I called asking about the puppy, she informed me of this and told me I could pick from the next litter.
I wanted a puppy from established parents, this mother was a first time mother. She tried to force me to take a male puppy at one point. When I told her I was coming up there to pick out my puppy, she would not allow that saying the trip would be too hard on the puppy.
Mean while I found a puppy in the city I was in and purchased it. She wanted me to pick the puppy I wanted from pictures and got angry when I did not respond to her phone calls, leaving very rude messages. She will not refund my deposit at all.
She sent rude emails and continued even after I told her not to contact me again (and she had my money???). I suppose I was on her mailing list. After she sold these puppies, she sent out an email that some of the new owners were having problems with Panosteites.
Shortly there after she sent emails with both parents for sale. She also sent me an email from the woman that got the puppy I had asked about. The lady said that her puppy was 9.5 pounds. The puppy I had bought, the same age, at that point was 25 pounds.
She was rude and I have to wander how many people she gets deposits from and then gives them what she wants to give them, when she wants to give it to them or keeps their deposit. I could almost even see past the 500.00 she was keeping until she sent me this email:
I am sorry but it was rather RUDE of you to never contact me and nicely explain why you were unable to take your pup and to leave me hanging.
The pup you left a deposit on got a wonderful home and they LOVE her. Will send pic's from them when I recieve them. Your loss was their gain and I told them that.
We breeders do talk, and we do comment on clients we have had problems with threw our network. This all could have been handled in an adult manner if you had had common courtesy to give a heads up on your end. If you couldn't aford the pup you could have just said so.
Oh well I don't really care. I made an extra $500.00 from your aggravation. If you ever want to send me another $500.00 please feel free. "A fool and their money are quickly parted."
