I bought a Havanese puppy from John Kowal of Your Puppy Love. He led me to believe that he was the breeder. I asked about the parents and the puppies disposition. He didn't give me a straight answer for either. When I went to meet the puppy she was by herself in a pen outside. I asked where her litter mates were - he said they were all sold already. I was shocked because they were all there the day before. At the time I didn't consider the fact that he was lying. I asked where her parents were. He said that after the last litter, he traded the mother to another breeder for the litter. This was the first that I heard that he was not the breeder! When he came near the dog, she flinched. I thought this was strange and scarey too. I bought the puppy anyway, half thinking that I was actually saving her life! Two days later she was coughing and lethargic. My vet took chest x-rays, she had Pneumonia! It has now been a month that I have this puppy. My vet bills are over $1,700. The dog was very close to dying, as per my vet. My other dog is sick too. My puppy is still not well, nor is my 11 year old Maltese. As per the lemon law, John is responsible for my vet bills. He is refusing to pay. He said "none of the other dogs in that litter are sick" I said I thought you sold them all - he back stepped a bit, and then said that he has one of them (liar) I have reported him to the Dept. Of Agriculture, and I am taking him to court!
