Looking for a Christmas present for my husband, I found a nice smoking jacket on Jay Pratts Emperors Elegancy #2 website and ordered one for $175 plus shipping charges of $11.31 to a total of $186.31.
Everything seemed legitimate. I received an Emperors Elegancy Order Confirmation number the same day (22 Dec) from "Emperors Elegancy" with an invitation to check the order status by writing to: [email protected] and to visit them often at: http://www.emperorselegancy.com. The following day (23 Dec) there was an e-mail from "EMPERORS ELEGANCY #2", confirming the reference number and the amount of the order.
When nothing had arrived by January 10, I went looking for the site I had ordered from, but couldn't find it. I sent an e-mail to [email protected] but as of this date (January 28) have not received an answer.
I have arranged to have my credit card cancelled and a new one issued. I see from the bill that my account was charged the day after the order was placed. I am now disputing the charges with my credit card company.
