My husband and I purchased a "new" model modular home in 2006. Bill Jones of Jones custom homes set the home in 4 boxes on our land and didn't tarp or cover it correctly. Rained excessively and caused water and mold damage.
Close to $10,000 in damages due to his negligence.
He wanted to band-aid the problem and go on. Workers had to beg to get paid which meant they didn't work at times because he owed them money (which he had 90% of the loan when he put the house on our land). So in that length of time it took to put a modular on our basement, we could have stick built the home.
He said he was a licensed general contractor, which he isn't.
He screwed up our home so bad that we fired him and now the manufacturer of the home, Rochester Modular Homes, will not do anything with repairs on the original construction of the home because of the money that they sunk into our home over the years since it was built in 2004.
Not built in 2006 as told by the general contractor.
He falsified insurance documents on why we had water and mold damage. FRAUD!
The list goes on... We have spent thousands of extra dollars trying to complete the home and fix what he did wrong.
