Ibd marketing time share scam dallas

I received a call from a Supervisor who gave his name as Richard Long from IBD Marketing regarding selling my time share. From the moment of the phone call, I was not able to get much out about things I want to inquire about this individual and the company.

He went on about how successful he is and how he makes quater of a million a year due to the successful selling of time share. He goes on to tell you how serious he is and how my time share was in such demand and how he had some buyers willing to pay $16,000-$18,000 for it but he needed it by this weekend. He went on to say that they charge approximately $800 but because my time share is such high demand and that it will sell in 45 days he is giving me a deal of $427, on top of that $500 gift certificate if they don't sell in within 45 days.

His closing remarks that this is something that I have to do today in order to get this sold and so that he won't lose the buyers. He offers and audio receipt, when questioned and how I felt leary about all this he tells me about how American Express, Master, Visa only give merchants of good reputation accounts.

I went on to question why can the $400 be taken out at closing, he rambles off and goes on to say that if your not serious then he just does not have time, he only works with serious sellers. Well, I told him that he can send the contract to me mail or via email and I will call him back once it is received. If once I read the contract and was satisfied with what I saw then, I will fill it out send it to him. He replied " I will see what I can do." Now does that sound to you that they are serious, they were so persistent about me giving my credit card info to them over the phone, and how this is the best deal ever.

I received the call Friday, Monday came around I got another call about my time share from another person from the same company, not before long Mr. Richard Long, came back and asked if I received the email. I said "No." He had sent it to the wrong email. He resent it to me, this time I did receive it.

All the documents were all in microsoft word format, The logo they used was from clipart. I am quite familiar with microsoft programs and use it on a daily basis. The clipart he had used was something I have used before. I could not believe that these people go out of their way to do things like this.

I also did a search and found them on the Rip Reports, and the story was exactly what I encountered.

All the phone numbers they call me from are from area code (954). However, the messages they leave me or have given me is a 1-888-828-9861. They are somewhere in Texas. I say that because when Mr. Long initially called me he inquired about where my property was in Texas, I told him it was not here. He asked where it was, I said Lake Tahoe. He said oh I thought it was here in Texas because of what you filled out on the internet.

Anyways, when I called one of the phone numbers that was on my caller id, I got another agent and wanted to inquire about the forms I received, they knew nothing and why it was a word document, and said that probably my computer opened it with word. Not the case. As I started to question them, they got very defensive. Mr Long then came on the phone, and I told him that I was very insulted he would send me contracts in word format, and I told him that anyone could do that. His rebuttal was that they were sample contracts. I told him I did not want sample, and that I wanted to sell my timeshare why would you send me samples.

The contract they sent me was stuff that he copied from another form and pasted onto word. Mr. Long was very rude and defensive, I asked him numerous questions, about the logo, the email address of gmail.com and why they don't have a company email address of there own. He responded are you going to let me answer, and the came back with "how old are you Chris? 18 years old." Now ask yourself if this company was real about who they say they are and what they do, why would they have to conduct themselves in such a defensive and rude manner. And just to top it off, he told me to " stick it where the sun don't shine" and hung the phone. This is a supervisor with the company!

All in all they did not like the research I did on them. They were caught with their pants down, and all I was asking was for explanations of all the leary things I had received. If it was a mistake they could of simply apologize and said we will get the contract out to you immediately we apologize for sending you documents that made you think leary of us. But we will get you our contracts and you will see that we are infact a reputable company that sells time shares, and left it at that.

If they were not trying to rip me off, all of this would simply been rectified by resending me an official contract. I am only left to believe they were after my money. I hope the public becomes smart and refuses to do any type of business of the phone. Please do!!!

All in all, ask questions about what it is they are selling or trying to get you to commit. Be VERY leary of those that pressure you about giving your credit card over the phone because this is a onetime deal! Don't o business without viewing documents. I say NEVER do it. Stay clear of SCAMS, ask questions!!
