Fraudulent Charges

On 5-25-07 someone in Spain charged 271.79 to my account. I have never been to Spain. This was on a day when I was at work in California. On 5-25-07 (the same day) Donna from Wamu's fraud division called me at home in California to tell me they suspected these were fraudulent charges. I confirmed that they were and that I had never activated this card. I still have the cards that were sent to me when my Providian account switched over to Wamu with the 800 phone number to call to activate sticker still attached to this card.

She sent me paperwork to file that confirmed that I did not make these charges and I didn't authorize anyone else to make them. They received my affidavit back on 6-9-07. It is still in review.

On 8-9 I spoke with Susan in the fraud dept and she said my case was still in review but that I should make a payment. I refused to do that because I do not use this card and would never get my money back. I closed the account on 8-9 wanting nothing more to do with these people. Since 8-9 they have called me 23 times. This is such a waste. I can't believe how long it takes to make a decision on charges that they called me about.
