Fraudulent Credit Card Charges

On July 26th, I applied for a checking account with Washington Mutual, using their online banking center. Due to an unresolved issue with an old account that I held with my now ex-husband, I was declined.

As part of the application process, I was required to submit my credit card information as payment for an opening deposit. I assumed that since I was declined, my credit card would not be charged. I was WRONG! My card was hit twice within a minute and 42 seconds, for $50.00 each time. I found this out on July 27th when I went to use my credit card to pay for a large ticket item and was declined, causing me much embarassment and concern.
I called my credit card right then and there, and was told of the charges from WaMu. The rep from my company called WaMu customer service, and she kept me on the line so i could relay information to the WaMu rep. We waded through the endless automated response system, and finally got a human being, who was unable to help us, so we were transferred to an offshore customer support center, where we got a rep that neither of us could understand. We were then transferred back to another office and disconnected. We started over and continued trying to find someone to help us, and 7 transfers and 56 minutes later, (I have proof, I was on my cell phone) we still had gotten no where. I gave up for the day and decided to send an email to their customer service.
I received an email back the next day from Radha, that totally missed the point, and did nothing to get the $100 refunded to my credit card. I decided to call WaMu again and I was transferred 4 times and I was told I would get a call the next day that would resolve my problems. I received no such call.

The charges are still on my card, I have wasted over an hour of my time and I am so frustrated and angry, that I am ready to see about opening a case with my states banking comission. So it is over a week later, my money is still gone, and I am ready to find every website on the net to write about what a rip-off WaMu is. I am also contacting my local media outlet to see if their consumer advocate can help me. I just want my $100, put back on my credit card. Its not rocket science. I have opened a fraud case with my credit card, but that could take weeks and weeks, and I will be charged interest on that $100.
