Gentry Credit-Royal Management, Caroline Shumway, Dan Belcher I got tired of it too!

I worked in the Blanding Gentry Credit as of last week on Wednesday. I quit because of the practices of the manager, Caroline Shumway and the home office. When I was first hired on I applied and submitted my resume. When I was hired I filled out all the new paperwork and was offered Medical Benefits, but after I had read carefully that the benefits would be well over what I could afford, I later declined and was told that I would have 10 less working hours and my pay would be reduced by fifty cents. I was being punished for not accepting their benefits.

The manager, Caroline Shumway has been there for almost 5 years, yet she barely took her first 1 week vacation. We had to maintain a certain percentage if she wanted to go on vacation. We did, so she got to go.
The manager had several instances with me where she was in the wrong, but who knows what she told the home office. They called us on a three way conference call to reprimand us. They let us know that she was the manager when the whole time she told us she was not. We felt lost because she told us she wasn't. Working under her was difficult because we felt as if she acted very immaturely. She is on medication also for depression and thus has very low mood swings. So I thought I would deal with it. Last week she was upset and took her feelings and let it all out and told some people about how she felt about us, the other coworker and I. There were only three of us. This gossip got back to the other coworker and she confronted our manager and she denied ever saying anything. I had given up and didn't want to hear it. They argued and I left. Monday came and the manager stood in front of me and told me all of it was over. She persisted as I told her that I really didn't want to get involved or hear any of it. She got in my face and I told her that I heard her the first time she said it. She said that she just wanted to make sure I wasn't mad. Why would I be mad. I just wanted to stay out of it. I was there to do my work. The two days went by and everything I did she had something to say about it. She was whispering things to the other coworker behind my back. On my final day the coworker told me that our manager was going to fire me and that she had already communicated things to the home office, but she did not know what was said. She had told the manager that if I was going to be fired she would call the home office and tell them the whole truth because the problems started with her, the manager. I told the manager when she came back that I was going to call the home office and explain everything myself. So, I did and Dan Belcher told me that he had a company to run and that I should go home and think to myself if I wanted a job or not. We were to discuss this and work it out, but this had happened before and nothing was done or resolved. We just got reprimanded. He failed to hear me out and all he said was that he was paying for the phone conversatioin that he didn't have time for. Our manager got on the phone and was yelling over what I was trying to say. She heard me say everything, but that was fine. She lied. She had done it before, but when she speaks to the home office she will not admit the truth. I didn't want to get fired or deal with Caroline. She may have been there for 5 years, but she sure does not act professional or treat us like adults. Dan Belcher basically does not care about the people who work for him. Every complaint goes through the manager, so usually nothing we say gets communicated to the home office anyway. I don't believe calling people 3 times a day is right. Our manager was mad at me and had me call people 3 times back to back and within 3 hours. To me, that is harrassment. I am just glad I don't have to work there anymore. I made the decision to leave and am happy I don't have to be there anymore. Even if my family has to go without for a little while.
