Sick-misadvertised puppies

On Thursday June 15 I purchased a Boston terrier puppy from Amy Veal-Pawsitively Perfect Pets or Black Dreek Farms or whoever she claims to be) in Milledgeville, GA. The puppies were advertised on US Free ads.com as tiny toy bostons that were 7 weeks old and that their adult weight would be 9-11 pounds each.

I drove hours to Milledgeville, GA and was promised the mother dog would be there for me to see. She was not.

The next day after purchasing the puppy, she became very sick. I took her to the vet on June 17 becuase the puppy was lethargic, vomiting and had bloody diarreah. My vet said she had a very severe case of Coccidia (from filthy living condidions) and she had to be given I.V. Fluids for deydration and antibiotics and shots and additional medications for days. He suggested that I contact the breeder to let her know of this because the other puppies in the litter probably had it also.

I contacted her and she acted very surprised and unconcerned and said that all the other puppies were just fine. He said the puppy was also under weight according to her age (I was told the puppy was born on April 14) I had to feed the dog baby cereal with her food so she would gain weight. I believe they were underfed in an attempt to keep them small.

Also, it took me months to get her papers. I kept calling and calling Amy kept ignoring my calls, At one point I started to believe the dogs had been stolen because she wouldn't produce the papers. Finally after many months and many phone calls I did get CKC papers. I was led to believe they would be AKC papers, which I preferred. When I did get the papers it stated her birth date as April 26. Who knows when they were really born?

Also, as far as her size—well, she is 7 months old and now weighs over 18 pounds and is still growing. This is more than double what I was told she would be.

Thank goodness she is now a healthy and beautiful dog, but is definantly not what I paid $600 for.

Also, my co-worker rode with me to pick up the pup and also purchased one of her "tiny toy" Bostons. The puppies were advertised at $700, but she gave us a "deal" since we bought two puppies. $600 each. Some deal. Her puppy was also very sick just days after the purchase and is now over 18 pounds and still growing. Her puppy also had to be treated for mange.

I do not believe Amy Veal should be allowed to sell sick puppies. I am very disappointed that I was lied to and cheated about the size and health of these pups by Amy Veal.

Is there anything I can do about this?
