I was employed with Kal Krishnan Consulting Service who has a formal contract with DMJM Harris Construction Company. DMJM Harris Contracts with the Los Angeles Unified School District. I was a Project Control Analyst while working for them I became pregnant and went on maternity leave back in August 9.
While on disiability leave two weeks prior to my return date back to work. Marvin Li my supervisor who is employed with DMJM Consulting told my company I no longer had a position with District 5. My job was given to the temp who came in to cover my position while on leave. My employer did nothing to ensure I had a job when I returned back to work. This was a good paying job and there was no reason to have been let go.
I did my job and got a good revue on 8/2/06. When I asked for a reason they did not have one for me. I file a complaint with my Human Resource Department on the 25th of October and to this date they have not replied. I filed a complaint with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on 11/14/06 they can take anywhere from 3 weeks to a month just to contact met. I came off disiablity and filed Paid Family Leave and now I'm forced now to file unemployment.
I just want my job back. I legally and rightfully did not deserve to be discriminated against while on maternity leave. I just can't understand if there are laws that protect me against these types of discrimination then why would they do something so stupid to have let me go and expect to get away with this. Help...:)
