I was contacted by GSI Grant Services while I was on vacation in Ohio. I had been waiting for a call from a legitimate grant service for the housing grant I had requested. I was surprised they had my cell #, and that they called while I was on vacation. The lady (with a heavy accent) assured me that they were the company I was waiting for, and she had pertinent information regarding me and my request for a grant so I preceeded with the information she asked for. I was told that I would have $298.00 removed from my account in two weeks to cover the processing costs of the grant filing.
She asked for my bank information and check number for her to use. I gave this to her.
When I had not heard from the company (I had been told that I would receive my paperwork to sign in 7-10 days) in two weeks, I started to call the number provided, and was told by the message that they were either closed or all representatives were busy and to hold. I held for up to 45 minutes. I called at least 20 times at various times of day.
When I had not gotten paperwork and yet had the money taken from my account, I looked up the company name on the internet and founds all these entries about them ripping off many people. I plan to make my bank return the monies to my account in any way at my command. Thank you for this service as it gives the average trusting consumer the voice to help others not be put in the same predicament.
