Ripoff, fraud, no customer service, largo florida, continuous billing even after automated cancellation

A Telemarketer called from Distinct Advantage aggressively offering $100 for gas and other gifts, and to give it a chance and look at their information. He required my checking account number, but promised I would have time to refuse the offer, no money would be taken from my account without my permission, and it would be confidential.

I was told I had sometime to review their letter covering their offer and to call them and let them know if i was not interested so I would not get charged. I was not around to recieve the letter. I saw that $149 had been deducted from my account. I was out of town, and when I got back and saw the letter, I called to cancel.

I figured it was my fault that I wasn't able to call before their deadline since I had agreed to go through with looking at their offer. So, I tried calling their number to cancel. There was no person on the other end or any option to speak to one, just a automated answer service to cancel your account. I did so.

A few weeks later, they were still charging my account; another $49 was deducted. I thought that maybe since I was on a cell phone, my request didn't go through. I didn't want to close my account. So, I tried to cancel my account a second time. They kept charging even after that. So as of now, I am in the process of closing my bank account.
