Dalcor Properties - Dalcor Management - Ah Dh Properties A ripoff slumlords, greedy liars cheaters and very dishonest!

The above is the property management company. The below is the property address.

The Point At Steeplechase Apartments
8901 Jones Rd.
Houston, Texas 77065

This nightmare began in December. I gave the apartment a deposit and when I went to move in (U-haul full of stuff) the apartment had not been cleaned and there were small pieces of glass on the bathroom counters and different locations on the carpet. The whole apartment had to be cleaned by me because they did not do it and I had all my stuff there in the U-haul and no other place to stay. The walls were dirty and the carpet was VERY dirty.

After moving in and living there about 4 months I took my daughter to the pool to swim and was unable to swin because of the filth inside the pool. The weather started getting hot and we began to use our AC system and had to leave it on constantly to get it to mark 80 degrees. I called the apartment managers several times and they sent a man to "fix" it several times and it still does not work in the summer. It only blows cool air.in the winter time my AC bill was low $69.00 but in the summer time I had to leave it on 24/7 and my electric bill was a high $259.00.

The apartment managers have changed so many times I don't even know who to talk to sometimes. Recently they hired another manager and I told her about my fireplace. I told her the wood was coming off around the fireplace on the roof and there was a piece of wood on the roof. She said she was going to call and get someone to come out and fix it last year.

Guess what? That same piece of wood is still hanging there and my fireplace has still not been fixed. I did not get to use my fireplace in the winter because I do not have insurance if this apartment were to catch on fire. They keep having water problems and shutting the water off for days at a time. The longest time was for 3 days. I ask the office to send us to a hotel and they refused to pay for it. I know all the people in my building that had to live here went without taking a bath for 3 days until they fixed their "boiler". Now today we have no hot water again.

I can't take a bath because they claim a pipe broke. Are they going to send us to a hotel? NO!!! Are they going to compensate us? NO! It's bad enough we don't have AC but to also make it where we can't take a bath is crazy!

I am paying $555.00 a month for rent here, $36.00 for water and yeah, $269.00 for electric. This is a small 1 bedroom. Not a big 3 bedroom house! But this company is charging people who live here for services they are not providing. They will not even compensate the people who live here and pay for them to go to a hotel. I have sent several letters and have called the office and the office in Plano, Tx and still nothing fixed, nothing works. I have a sewer gas smell coming out of my bathroom and they said they will get to it when they can because they only have 1 person working on all these apartments. I have been looking for another apartment to move into and I am trying to contact whoever is responsible for this property so I can move without them giving me bad rental history.

I signed a 13 month lease and fullfilled that. I have been on month to month basis because I do not want to sign another 12 or 13 month lease with them. The manager informed me today that I must give them a 30 day notice again. Even after I have already gave them one last December that I would be on a month to month basis and I am paying extra money also.

I did a search on the interenet looking for a person to contact about this company and I found this site. I totally agree with the person who posted the post about Dalcor. Dalcor does not treat the people they rent to fairly. They take their money and do NOT repair the property! The buildings have paint chipping off them, the doors are falling apart, the cabinets inside the apartments are swollen and crumbling when you open them. Unsightly. There is mold and rust all over the balconies.

Very dirty complex and I wish I had taken a longer look at this place before I moved here. Actually, when I moved in they told me they were under construction and fixing things at that time, and the only thing they fixed was the giant hold in the parking lot. I am fed up with this place and the way they treat me. I want to move and would like legal help. I know of several persons who have moved from here who also had the same problems as I do.

Maybe this company needs a good attorney to file a class action lawsuit against them. I have photos of the property. Any good attorney out there willing to take this case? One more thing, the person who posted the other post about them was in the right to want to move whether they fixed the problem or not. Who want to live in a place that had or has a "bat infestation"? Was that disclosed to the man when he signed a lease, Are they disclosing it to others who sign a lease with them. I would be livid if I rented from an apartment community and they had a "bat infestation" and did not tell me. Those are things you should know.

A person should be able to choose to move when there is something wrong with the property that was not disclosed to them upon signing a lease. A person should be able to move if the company does not stick to their end of the lease. It's really sad they "Dalcor" ignors you and acts like they never knew there was a problem. I tried to talk to them long distance and they lady there told me to send them a letter. I did and still no response to my problems with their property. Well, guess what Dalcor, when I move I have photos and proof and copies of my lease. Among other pieces of evidence. If Dalcor claims they fixed the problem, don't believe it unless you see it.:)
