I recieved a phone call today 4-29-05 from the First National Government Grants and that I was approved to receive a $12,500 grant because I filed my 2004 tax return and paid my taxes and that the government wants to give me money back for paying my taxes.
At first I thought it was a bunch of bull*. But it was hard to understand her with her jamaicain accent. I'm thinking she's just wanted to send me information on the grant and then I can apply. It wasn't until she wanted my checking account number and routing number which the routing number is a bit too much information they can do anything with that it's bad enough she did get my account number but not the routing so if you could tell me if she has acess to my account then i will close and open a new one.
I did get the 1800 number and the identification number so I'll be calling to stop transaction. I also called back the number from a previous report on these people and it gave me the option to be removed from their call list. Please help me with what I should do next.
