American Grant Information Center
Attempted Ripoff, Hear how I outsmarted them by listening to my instincts

First & Foremost, the company American Grant Information Center (AIGC) is not located in Virginia Beach, VA. I am not sure where it is physically located. None the less what I have to say is valed and important.

On April 14th @ 8:00 P.M. I recieved a phone call on my mobil telephone from a Nathan representing AIGC. He informed my that I haved been approved for a Federal Government Grant. He went on to say that I was guaranteed to at least recieve 5,000.00 and had the potential to recieve a potential 25,000.00 depending on whether or not I could prove the need. Nathan went on to say that they were the company that helped all the Hurricane dissaster victims in Florida to recieve there Government Grant's. He went on to verify my address, phone number, bank and account information. This was to "Verify that the Grant Money Goes to the Right Person" because sometimes the Grant's come in the form of Direct Deposit's. Fishy???

I was uneasy with this whole process because I could decifer the Indian Accent of Nathan. Many call center's have been moved to India due to inexpensive labor. These large call center's encourage the employee's to adopt american sounding name's. That's Red light number 1 for me.

Red light number 2 was Nathan asking of my account number first, then adding the mention of a 249.00 processing fee. Sounds Fishy, I agree, so here's how I out smart them...

I give them a false acount number (just a few digit's off my actual) and Choose the option to have it deducted on the 25th (ten day's from the date of Nathan's call. Nathan then give's me all these customer service numbers to call, along with his Employee number AG7715 and confirmation number's.

Well the very next day April 15th @ 11:56 P.M. I see on my caller ID where the company AGIC called again. Humm, I guess they tried to process my information only to realize that the account number's were no good. What about processing my account on April 25th like I agreed on??? Bingo!!!

Then I went online & googled AGIC and complaint was the first to pop up. After reading one of the statement's made I couldn't help but to share. The truth of the matter is that Scam's happen every day, at every level. They all get publicly exposed over time. It's great that a web-site such as this exists to allow people like me to share vital information. I work very hard for my money to be taken so carelessly from me. I hope this help's at least one person.
