Taylor is the worst builder I know. They claim to build a quality home but their actions during the construction of my home reflect total incompetence, gross negligence and deceptive practices.
During and after construction of our home, we discovered plumbing violations, trusses not properly braced, wall studs missing, bathroom fans not vented properly and girder beams too short to rest properly on foundation walls. This is shoddy construction and not the results of a competent or quality oriented builder.
Taylor deceives the homebuyer with a terrible warranty by incorporating it into the contract by reference and not providing a copy with the signed contract. This allows them the ability to produce a warranty not seen and no proof as to its content. Taylor utilizes an unlicensed roofer when Illinois law requires roofers be licensed and then claimed they were unaware of such law. They were negligent in not checking the laws before building and that is not the actions of a competent builder. The Regional Manager refused to make roof repairs to protect the drywall which lead to the discovery of the shoddy roof and the licensing law.
It has been 2-1/2 years since we moved into our home and Taylor has not honored their warranty and probably will not. They have had an attorney accuse me of malicious and malevolent behavior when I called to inquire about my warranty issues. They would not respond when my attorney asked for the particulars. They will stop at nothing in keeping this information from the public.
Taylor needs to concentrate on changing their image rather than protecting it. I will keep this report updated as to my warranty issues, home defects being corrected and Taylor's intimidating tactics.
