Taylor Building Corporation Of America Aka Taylor Homes
Ashamed, embarrassed and humiliated

To this date my wife and I feel our bodies and minds had been violated by the Taylor Building Corporation of America aka Taylor Homes. We did not willingly or knowingly bend over for this company but once we signed that builders contract this company had us bent over for the duration of the construction of this house.

The happiest day in our lives was when we where able to sign off on the Taylors and rid ourself of this misfortune. We accepted redoing the basement floor so the water would drain, we accepted redoing the entire master bathroom, we accepted repainting 80% of this house, we accepted finishing the basement windows, we accepted redoing and finishing what the furance contractors screwed up and we accepted the drainage problem from the roof.

We where so glad we where able once again to stand and walk upright. As misfortune would have it we received a mailing from Taylor Homes stating, Taylor Homes would love to build another home for you and see the smile on your face. This we can not accept, the Taylors had us bent over for so long they don't have a clue what our faces look like.

If I had not been there to witness the mismanagement, the bad management, hell there wasn't any management in the construction of this house, I would not have believed that this possibly had happened.

I sit here with eight type written pages and growing of nothing but moaning and groaning comments about this builder and the nasty things they did to my wife and me.instead of this eight page complaint here is a wish list. If we had had this information available we would never had done business with Taylor Homes or any other bottom feeding builder.

A Wish List of Questions We Never Asked.

1. Call your local Home Builders Association; ask if this builder is a member. Call the Home Builders Association where the builder has its business address such as Louisville Kentucky, if they are not a member ask them why not, call the National Home Builders Association it's an 800 #, ask them why this builder is index under the Franklin name and not Taylor.

2. Call the Better Business Bureau where the builder has their business address such as Louisville Kentucky. Ask this association why the Taylor Building Corporation of America was dropped from their roster in January and still flew their logo on the internet until March. Keep in mind the BBB is a private company and is part of the Good Old Boys Country Club.

3. Kentucky Secretary of State; go to the internet, link onto Taylor Homes, there is a world of information available to you, remember Kentucky has an open records law. As an example Southern States, what ever happened to these people. Call the local newspaper in Louisville they can tell you how to archive their records.

4. If the property is in your name and all the permits are in your name, if the liability insurance is all yours and in your name ask the sales person; what is the responsibilty of the builder. Keep in mind the opinion of the sales person is his not the builders. Then go to the county building department and ask them who is responsible.

5. Ask for the names of at least five current and past customers of the Taylors. The sales person may give you the name of a person in authority such as a police officer or others like him, whom better to trust. No way! Your best bet is to go to the county building department in your county or any of the counties in that market area. Remember Kentucky has an open records law.

6. Ask for a sit down interview with the site supervisor. Keep in mind this is the person who will build your house and spend thousands of your hard earned money. Ask for his qualifications and check him out.

7. Get a written completion date signed by the owner of the company. If this request is refused for any reason, ask other builders in your area what is their build out time and what is reasonable expectation. You will be amazed.

8. Do not sign the contract until you have taken it to an attorney. Any contract and especially this builder's contract with a mediation and arbitration clause can cost you your right to a jury trail and thousands of your hard earned money. Everything about it favors the builder.

Its your money! Tens of thousands of dollars spend it wisely.
