I was called by a company claiming to be paydayloansforamerica. I was contacted by Adam Smith letting me know that I was approved for a loan of 1,500 at this phone number (609) 248 6616. Then I received a call from phone number (845) 834 4786 telling me that I was approved for a loan of 1,500 for 15 months. I thought this was good. I returned the call and was informed that the lowest amount I could accept is 2,000. I was then given a phone number of (347) 478 6930 and the name of Adam Smith to contact to finalize the loan. I called Adam and he informed me that I would need to send a security deposit of 200 dollars then I would get the money deposited in my account of 2200 dollars.
I did a google search for this company and usacomplaints.com had the phone number of (347) 478 6930 listed as a possible scam.
I called the Adam back and told him I had a few concerns about this payday loan offer and almost immediately he started cussing me out and threatening me that he was a hacker and that he is going to make my life hell including putting my loan in default when in fact I declined the loan due to the concerns I had. As of 5pm on 9/16 I am still being harassed.
What can I do to stop them?
