Consumer Report

Beware! Beware! Beware! If it sounds too good to be true, it is! This wisdom never fails!

I've been a client of JustCloud for over 2 years. When I first joined, I did so because of the excellent service they were supposed to provide a long with the excellent discount I received for signing up. I was given a 70 or 80% discount on what was supposed to be an unlimited account.

After backing up 1.4 TB of data (was having hard drive failure issues, right after tsunami or earthquake damage that closed down hard drive factories), I actually turned my licensed system off for over 8 months.

Recently, I had just built a new system and bought some hard drives so I turned my old system on. 1 week later I get an email stating they have done some random file testing and found that I am not using their system in accordance to their agreement. I have 30 days to either upgrade to a business account or lose my files.

They will not even discuss this issue. They say once they come to this decision there is nothing they can do. I believe they are strong arming me into a business account because of my steep discount on an unlimited account. For over 8 months there was not one backup done and suddenly after turning my system back on, I have done something wrong. I am a 100% Service Connected disabled vet. I collect SSDI and my VA compenstation check. I am retired and haven't worked since 2004.

My files that are stored are priceless to me. They contain over 25 years of files, pictures, music, and movies of family movies, memmories, and other files i have no where else.

Getting my files is less than easy. If I had not checked my email, they would have deleted my files, regardless if I knew they were going to. They have an agreement they say they can change at any time and it is up to the user to find out about them. They do not have to notify the end user in any way.

After signing up, they changed their files size limit and their external drive backup policy. What once came with the service for free, they decided to charge for the service. I had 4 external drives that I thought were backed up but half way through they changed their policy without my knowledge.
