2 men came to my door at 8:30 at night, introduced themselves, and talked at length about education and a program for helping inner city kids. They were friendly enough to let me know that my cat was trying to get out the door, but not friendly enough to stop wasting my time— guy #2 went on without pause for a good minute and a half before I finally stopped him. I said that I wasn't interested, and he looked at me incredulously— "In education?!" I explained that I had experienced something like this before and that I was simply not interested. On the back of the lanyard that he was wearing, there is a citation of a legal ruling which basically states that they can't legally be restricted from going door to door.
