Some time about May/ June I called Vonage attempting to switch from Verizon. I had made most of the arrangements but just before finishing my husband came and asked me to cancel the deal since Vonage would not be a good alternative for a landline as it would only operate through the computer. I immediately told the representative to cancel the transaction but they did not. For about five months they were automatically withdrawing money from my credit card until my husband noticed it. He called the company to complain about payment that they were taking for service that was asked to be cancelled and we never had. They responded they could do nothing about that since we had no confirmation number to show it was cancelled. My husband called his credit card company and immediately put a stop. Since then I have been receiving messages on my personal cell from collection agencies. I think it is not just unfair but unethical the way these large companies try to destroy ordinary working people and extort money from them. If anything for the over $100 my husband paid for no service we had from Vonage, they should be the one to make the refund
