I applied for a loan on line. Jacobs Lending and Associates ("JLA") representative Lize Florence, contacted me and said the $5000 loan was approved. E-mailed the loan documents for me to sign. I was reluctant to sign and continually asked if this was a "scam", Ms. Florence reassured me it was not and that her customers were satisfied. Before the loan would fund, I was required to send a good faith deposit of $490 to be held for six months to ensure payment. After the six month period the money would be returned or applied to the principal. Ms. Florence made several calls regarding the status of the documents. I spoke with Corey Turner, in the customer service department, who assured me JLA was legitimate. I eventally gave in, reluctantly and sent the $490 against my better judgment. Upon receive the money, I was told after further review of my credit report, I would have to make an additional deposit. At that time, I contacted Corey Turner and demanded my money back. Mr. Turner said the money would be returned in 15 days. It has yet to be returned and I am unable to reach anyone at the company. This is a "scam'. If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS. I knew better, but was desperate and hoping against hope and got burned. I could ill afford the $490 loss.
