I applied on line for a loan and was contacted by a Nancy Summers of The Lending Associates. After speaking with Mrs. Summers who seemed very professional I was advised that I would need to send in $820 for a deposit on the loan to be used at any time if I default on my monthly payments. Once the deposit was received the loan would be wired into my account within 1-3 business days. The next week when I hadn't received anything I called Mrs. Summers back and she then pretended to talk with her manager and come back on the line and tell me that I was not charged the right amount for the loan and would need to send an additional deposit. I received a contract by fax and signed everything and returned it with another $820 deposit. The next week she gave me a story about the government wants me to pay taxes on the money before they would release it. At that time she told me I could cancel at anytime and receive a full refund plus the money I spent at Western Union to send the funds. I have never received anything, there number has been disconnected and the website no longer exists. She assured me that this was not a scam and that I could look them up on the BBB website and I did all that. Now I am finding out that they were using another company name and taking peoples money.
