We hired A&S Collections with the understanding that for a flat prepaid fee they would collect up to twenty accounts for us. There was an additional percentage they would be awarded if the collection time was extended based on the amount of time needed to collect overdue accounts. Now, I'm not so sure that time was not dragged out so they could collect 49% of the fees owed to us. We were also supposed to get reports regularly from them and that also ceased years ago. We have sent up to nine accounts to this organization and some of which the overdue accounts were recovered, however, many have not even been touched. Their standard response since 2010 has been that they are waiting on getting licensing from the state of CT. Three years have gone by and we got tired of hearing this answer from them so we did our own investigation. It turns out that their license expired in was never renewed and there is no pending application. This is contrary to what they continue to tell us. I did not divulge to them that I knew this during the last phone call with them but pressed their phone rep Linda for answers. She told me she didn't know who handled the application request in her organization then put me on hold. She came back on the phone and said "my supervisor told me I am responsible". I then asked her what was the story and I wanted the truth. She responded that I could request copies of all of my files and I could go with someone else if that is what I wanted. They never honored the complete contract and they dragged this out for years with us telling us lies about their situation. Not only are they keeping our fee but they collected 49% of the fees that were recovered. They now tell me that we are "even" because they were able to collect on some of the accounts which turned out to be more than the fee that they charged us. Do not do business with these people.
