I sent in my payment for insurance on 4/1, and they 'said' they received the payment late and want to charge me a $10 late fee. When I call (718) 896-2300, to find out why, they only tell me they received it late and want to charge me a late fee. I ask for proof but they won't show me any. They threaten to cancel the policy if I don't pay the late fee. I refuse to pay this so-called late fee if I have NO proof I sent it in late. Maybe they received it late or misplaced it? I would like to either get my money back or find out why I have to pay a late fee when I have no proof of me sending it late. So, please let me know what to do to resolve this problem.
