Got a letter in the mail on Friday April 12th. It was from: Global Test Market. It was for me to be a secret shopper and labeled me as a: Customer Service Evaluator.
They sent me the letter explaining what to do and to deposit a check with which they sent me in the amount of: $1488.00 into my checking account so that I could get started to work. Of that monies, $120.00 was to be my pay and then the rest to be spent at either one of the following stores: BEST BUY, WAL-MART, MACY'S, JC PENNY, SEARS OR K-MART. I deposited the check on Friday afternoon and it is Tuesday, April 16th and the check has stilled not cleared my bank. I've been calling the Training Coordinator every day since to let him know my bank has the check but that it has not cleared. I called my bank yesterday, April 15th to see what the hold up was and they assured me it would be available today. The check was still not available today, April 16th. I called the bank, (PNC) to see why this check has not cleared and was instructed that they have had problems with monies from this company. I then called John Williams back (Assigned Training Coordinator) at: 416-817-6851 again to see why this check is not clearing and is this a scam. He hung up on me. I tried calling him back using my home phone but he wouldn't pick up. I waited 20 minutes and used my cell phone to call him again. He picked up and when I identified myself again, he hung up on me once more and niether will he pick up from my home number or my cell number. I called the bank back to see if they are possibly trying to get my checking account info, and told them how he acted and the bank also believes that I have been scammed as they have had trouble trying to get these monies from these checks that come through.
Would you please check on this for me? I checked the number and the phone # is out of Ontario Canada and the address above I don't believe is correct either. The fax number on this letter is: 1-866-791-2284. The email address is: www.globaltestmarket.com. The Group Project Director is: Joseph Coring.
I was super excited about getting stared, but now I feel like a heel to have believed such a lie.
