I received a barely official-looking notice in the mail demanding that I submit $225 to something called "Corporate Business Filings, " along with the names of my corporation's officers. The notice strongly implies a fine of $250 if the money is not remitted by April 15.
Closer reading of the fine print shows a number of sentence run-ons and grammatical issues, as well as this line: "... This fine will not be assessed if you do not submit this filing to Corporate Business Filings." Huh? So wait, now you're telling me I don't need to file this paper with you? You think I'm going to pay you $225 to submit my officers' information to the Secretary of State, when I already did so for free 5 months ago? Cute.
