I googled Apple support for my Mac Pro book and got 877-889-2129
I called that number and heard several prompts like "is this for your iPhone, etc." So I pressed the numbers indicated by the prompts. I was then connected to someone that I believed was with Apple. He said that my laptop was infected and that I needed a service which he said was a one time fee of $250 and that I would receive a rebate of $50 and also that I needed a virus protection that was $50 to be able to remove the viruses on my MacBook Pro.
He then instructed me to go to mytechhelp.com, he also accessed my laptop through some logmein program and took control of my laptop and downloaded VirusBarrier X6 10.6.18, and NetUpdate that has Virus Barrier X6 Threat Filters 04/04, Internet Security 2013 10.7.2 and Virus Barrier X6 10.6.19
They continued to allow me to believe that they were with Apple.
I called back and asked some questions and they wouldn't answer my questions and said that they needed to back up my computer for my protection. I said no and he said okay he was done!
I called back and got the same prompts but hit different responses and ended up with an actual Apple Support representative. They said that the 877 889-2129 was not one of their numbers. So this MyTechHelp.com number will connect you with Apple depending on your responses. And before you are connected with Apple they offer you some other Dinner Card deal. I am sick that i fell for this.
