I paid Legal Zoom $963.00 to register / trade-mark a product for my company.
After nearly10 months and numerous unsuccessful attempts for legal Zoom to give me verifiable progress reports/updates. I requested a "Full" refund. I also filed the request with American Express.
On 2/19 I recieved an e-mail from Legal Zoom stating the following; "As of 1/22, we see a chargeback to your account used for payment for $963.00. This means that your institution has credited the amount back." I contacted American Express to which they informed me that no credit had been issued at that time. On 3/17 I recieved a letter from American Express stating that they were unsuccessful in attempts to resolve the issue due to the amount of time that had elapsed. It states that Legal Zoom does not have the records necessary to investigate this case! I have verifiable "Undisputable" proof that Legal Zoom within the 6 month period is still comunicating with me regarding the trade-mark request.
In retrospect, it seems as though they simply send out e-mails to make you think your project is in the works, while in fact they are doing nothing. That's why they could never produce verifiable "Updates".. As long as they can extend the process they know that they are likely to get paid for doing absolutly nothing! Sound like a "SCAM" to me!
I intend to post my very disappointing experience on Every Social Media site available. Even if I never see my money again. Perhaps this will keep others from getting scammed as well!!!
