I just found out that I have been charged $20 a month for the last year through LegalZoom for a "free service" that is offered for the first month once you sign up. However after this month they automatically take $20 from your back account each month. It's my fault for not catching this sooner. I also complained that I am about to be sent to collections for $159.00 that I owe them for a renewal of a "Registered Agent." I signed up with Legal Zoom because I didn't understand the legal aspects of filing for a non-profit. However I have just been informed that I checked a box making Legal Zoom the registered agent, which costs $159.00 a year. Legal Zoom had no problem setting up this service, but if I want to cancel, I'm on my own. I have to call the state of California and file the forms myself. This is to simply cancel the "Registered Agent" service from Legal Zoom, so that I am not sent to collections by their company. Legal Zoom will not make the changes themselves despite knowing what to do and how to do it quickly. I would avoid them at all costs.
