I was recently looking for a new car and had found a 2006 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SE through craigslist for $1833.00. I had contacted the seller regarding the car by email. I was told the reason why she was selling it so low was because she had just lost her husband and son in a car accident by a drunk truck driver about two months ago. I know how people react when they lose a loved one because my own mother lost me brother in a car accident where it flipped over and he was a marine and he died on the way to the hospital with internal bleeding. She was devasted and under a lot of medication. It was in the back of my head that it could have been too good to be true but my mind told me to go through with the money transfer from western union that it could be true. I was told that the car was in excellent condition but that I couldnt contact the seller since she was under the vehicle protection program with eBay and that the car would be shipped out to me using DAS shipping services once I have submitted the payment through Western Union to an eBay agent in PA his name was Jermaine Beltonand his address which cost me $161 more on top of it. Once that transaction was verifed after I faxed that western union receipt info to 1- (719)-235-2641 to ebay customer support, I was told that the car was going to be shipped to my address with tracking info. I didnt get any tracking and I didnt receive the car on the expected delivery. I was notified by eBay Motors that there was a delay due to weather since it had snowed which I could understand but then they stated that they would have to give me a new agent if I still wanted the car and I did want the car and changed the name of the agent with western union to Carlton Snell in NY and gave them the verification so they told me the shipping would be processed and gave me a new date for 3-13 for the car to be delivered but never got the product as of today and the money was already taken from Western Union. I have tried contacting Ms. Annette Bates and the eBay Motors but have not gotten any response from either in more than two days so that made me assume that I definitely was scammed which is my worst fear because that was a lot of money to lose. Once I didn't get a response from the seller I started doing some more research and I found out that I had made many mistakes regarding this transaction by looking more closely on the craigslist website and on western union and also on eBay as well. I really would like my money back if possible that was going to go towards a newer car to replace my 94 camry since it is dying on me and unsafe to drive my 6 yr daughter in.
