Exploded glass front storm door, no one touched it. Standing in front of it.
This has been resolved, that is not the problem.

they have no interest in the safety issue. This happens, and could have been worse if it was a double paine window. Does this make any sense. I don't want someone hurt or killed. Had i not been wearing a heavy winter bathrobe the story would have been far worse. Thanks,
Manufactured New Andersen Storm Door, bottom glass exploded into me. It was 2:30 AM in the morning. I left a message @ 3 AM I was so shocked. Glass Exploded into me standing 2 foot from the front door, shot at me about BILLIONS of pieces of glass. I WAS NOT TOUCHING THE DOOR, AND NOTHING WENT NEAR IT.
Customer service showed no interest, wanted to explain the making of glass and told me it was THERMAL Glass. Told me I would have to purchase new glass and have SOMEONE replaced it. Spoke to Dave Weiss and Craig Hanson service supervisor.
Craig knew how upset I was and I wanted the president's email or phone me. I contacted Jay [email protected] and left a message. They now are going to replace the door.
Monday the suffolk county area service manager j collins came. He was not shocked, says this happens and if it was a patio double glass window the situation would have been worse. It does happen, was his comment.
I am so concern someone could have ended up in a icu or dead and feel these doors should be off the market, any of this glass, if this happens at all.
This should be the same glass as autos.
i then asked him to check my new andersen windows. I can't open them to wash. They are double hung.
He tried to open the window, not very easy, I Asked if his wife would having trouble opening? Said she doesn't have windows that open. Then told me that maybe my husband would have to open them... Make sense, NO.
Says, my H could open them for me, I said my H has CP and crutches and can't, but he did just finish Law school, in December.
Why should anyone have problems if they were made right.
I would never purchase these doors or windows, not of fine quality. We went to the home goods show, at Suffolk County College over a year ago and was told not to purchase the replacement window, as they were such poor quality, this was from one of your sales companies that sells these.
Rick spoke to a few contractors today and they were shocked. They say they have known of this happening and ANDERSEN does nothing. They were shocked that they did anything. Andersen is the worse company to get them to address problems.
Not saying much, and all I can say is they showed no interest. At least, the president, Mr. Lund, did something to resolve this issue of the glass.
My Major issue is safety and this doesn't seem to be a isolated issue...
