I received a notice in the mail saying I went through 3 tolls in Chicago. I called there operator and informed them I did not own the vehicle/plates in question when they supposedly went through the tolls. I scheduled a hearing and they informed me that they would send me a letter with the information I needed. 30 days later I received a notice saying I missed my hearing and that I have until 3/5 to pay my fine or I owe $219.70 instead of $79.70. I received this notice on 3/5!
So I call on 3/6 and I am told I need to pay the $219.70 or go to court in Wheaton IL to fight it.
They use regular mail for out of the area people. How is this legal!!!
