Traveling to Montana, I used the Illinois Tollway, I had traveled through several states with tolls that day and I know I paid tolls at at least 4 or 5 toll booths between Chicago and Rockford totaling $7.90 - when I returned from my trip I received a notice stating I had not paid tolls ORT - I handed cash to a live person each and every time. They claim I did not stop and pay. They don't give receipts. I am 66 years old and a Notary Public; I have never in my life not paid a toll or anything that I might owe. I contested the notice to no avail, even though the notice said Illinois had burden of proof, but I had nothing to show as my proof, except my memory. I checked with the customer service people and there are only 4 toll booths between that area of toll road. So because I am on a limited income and had no receipts I had to pay the tolls twice and $80.00 fines. Now they tell if I don't pay this amount, they will charge an additional $200 and turn over for collection. I have an 800 credit score, I did not get that from not paying my bills! Illinois is scamming out of state cars, someone is getting a kickback
