I've been living in this apartment building for the past two years and have not had one issue with this company until I received a bill on Friday February 15. I received a bill with an outstanding balance of close to $1,200. Looking at this bill the first thing that came to mind is that this must be a mistake. I decided to call customer service and I was told that these were charges that were corrected from previous estimated charges from October 9 January 1. I spoke to Miss Haywood and from her explanation I could not find the sense and theory that conEdison used to determine these previous charges that are applied to the corrected bill. This was all due to the meter that they supposedly had no access to. I believe that conEdision could have taken some necessary steps in order to prevent the bill from accumulating. A notice could’ve been sent to state the presence of conEdison and nobody being there. This gives the customer a heads up so that they know what necessary precautions should be made and know exactly what to expect. What I find very hard to believe is that this company will prefer to allow accumulations of estimated bills and expect the customer to have such large amounts knowing the financial situations at hand. I also feel that how can a bill be evaluated if the meter have not been read in the past for months stated by conEdison. What’s tools are conEdison using in order to make these determinations and how do I know that this is accurate? This company is unfair and inconsiderate to the customers.
