Last week I got an e-mail to go see my latest statement. I have pretty much done it over the internet for a number of years.
I go to check on my account and it said I couldnt see my account, I would have to call in. I called in and talk about a nightmare!
The first thing they ask me is what is my password. On the phone I needed a password? I never gave them a password on the phone. They didnt ask what was my mothers maiden name or ss number. I called to check on what my payment would be. If it wasnt me what thief in their right mind would ask how much do they have to pay on a bill?
So this security guy gets on and starts to ask me about ppl I never heard of before. "How old is James Anderson?" I said how the heck should I know? Then goes on to ask me about some person called Teresa. Where did she live. I was starting to think I was in twilight zone, I could not believe this was happening to me. He finely asked me something I did know. My old address. But that wasnt good enough.
He then says you will need to send us copies of (very personal info) I said you know when I get my statement I will then ask you some crazy info before I make my next payment!
But the more I thought about it the more I throught how crazy this was. So I called again hoping to get some one who was American, who would understand. But that wasnt to be the case.
The next security guy says the same. I ask why was my internet blocked in the first place? He says because you didnt give the password to the person over the phone. I tried again.."your just not getting it. I got an e-mail that said check on my monthly statement. Then when I tried. It wouldnt let me in. No phone call was made at that time and my password I gave over the internet was correct. It didnt say wrong password.
Then he says "Oh, ok then let me check. Your account was blocked because someone tried to use your account on July 7th.
We got no letter about it. Still havent gotten any letter about it. But we got the stinking bill for me to pay. I told the guy if my account was blocked then I dont have to pay the bill when it comes, because I will not send any personal info, there are ppl using personal info from other countries. He goes. Humm..
Well if you keep paying it will stay in good standing.
But I say you dont believe its me, but you would if I pay with out personal info?
I told them since they put fraudulent info on my account. Like this so called James Anderson. I will no longer touch this account, I wouldnt know who is getting the money. And if the account is blocked and I cant use, through no fault of my own, then I refuse to pay anything more on it.
Even tho we live on only $373 now per month. I was going to keep making my payments, I had good standing with them. But now because of all this mess, that had nothing to do with me. I will no longer pay. Its almost like they wanted me to stop paying, the whole thing is so weird and I find very fraudulent.
