Last month, I cancelled my AOL membership after using their service for over a year. I promptly received a letter of cancellation in the mail, and thought that everything was all right. Well, today I received a letter from them stating that I owed $47.80. When I called the representative number that was in the letter, I was told that my last two payments didn't go through. As I stated above, I'd been a member for over a year. They could have contacted me IF there were any problems, or used another method of extracting payments, as they have enough information about me. I told the representative this, and all she did was give me the number for the billing department. When I asked to speak to another person there regarding the matter, she told me that her supervisor was busy. I told her that it was funny that they would be billing me AFTER I'd cancelled my membership. Again, no help there. I don't want to pay this unnecessary bill and I don't like the fact that they are trying to rip me off, after I stopped using their service.
