Dell billing practices Laptop for her deployment to Iraq ripoff India

I have been buying from Dell for the past three years. I have never had a problem, never had to call anyone about anything. My wife decided she wanted a Laptop for her deployment to Iraq.

SHe decided to sign up for the preferred account so she wouldn't have to pay in cash. So far no problems, she gets approved for 4,000.00 and APR of 23.33%. No the special deal was 0% for 6 months, me not reading the fine print stated "only on bundled items only." So when we sat down to order it, we customized it the way she wanted it. The total came to $3,800 dollars. No problem, she was going to pay it of before the 23.33% kicked in. Well, the first bill arrives, and there is a finance charge of 25 dollars (don't quote me on the math please). She was mad and wanted to call Dell, of course I printed a copy of everything for the Dell file, and pulled it out, thats when we found out, she didn't get the 0% for six months, no prob, she would pay it off.

She calls dell and pays over the phone that day, with the added processing fee, no prob she likes the computer, she doesn't want to send it back to make a point. The next month the bill comes in, finance charge of 29 dollars. Why, because the interest was billed for the 8 days between the closing date of the last bill and when she paid it, (states it on the back). Even states you cannot be bill interest on interest. No prob, my wife calls to make a payment and gets "jody" in India that doesn't understand english, she tells my wife she can pay, but will get a bill for the interest that has been building up on the 29 bucks from that billing cycle, my wife reads to her from the back of the bill stating that she cannot be billed for that, "jody" states thats a typo, wife asks for a manager, "jody" is the manager, wife asks for a phone number in the united states to talk to some one who can understand english, "jody" states " Dell is not an American company and has no offices in the United States. (back of bill has Austin, TX address to send any billing problems too.) "jody" said she can process the payment of 29.00 dollars plus processing fee and can charge the next two months of finance charges of 29.00 dollars also, and told my wife to expect a bill.

Wife hangs up on her.
I send in the payment (via snail mail check) of 29.00 bucks. No other bill comes in.

Moral of the story, out sourcing doesn't work, if you want to use them, atleast have them read your own company's policy.
