Dell Financial Services
Ripoff

On 12/3, I purchased a Dell Computer from a William Smith (1-800-879-3355 x57870). At the last minute, he talked me into signing up for a Dell Preferred Account to get 90 day defferred billing. The only reason we went with it was that we were assured that if we paid it when the bill came in 90 days we wouldnt get charged the finance charge.

When the bill came, we paid it by the due date on the bill. The trouble was it was mailed to us after the time finance charges were suppose to kick in. A few weeks later, we get a bill for finance charges and interest. I called the financial services office and was told by the customer rep and his supervisor that it was my responsibility to get the payment there on time and that they were under no obligation to mail a me a normal bill notice. I thought it was common courtesy to always send a bill, with the amount, due date and an envelope. They said that because they provided notice of my promotion expire date to me each month billing statement (which I didnt get) that they were not waiving the interest that has been accrued. I could find no one at Dell Computer or financial services that would talk to me.

That why I think this is a standard practice on there part to make extra money off screwing people on their financing offers. There has to be some recourse.
