In October I ordered a computer from Dell over the phone. I offered to pay with a credit card, but the girl said they would give me 90 days interest-free. The first statement came about a month later showing a bill for $1,046.84. (The amount should have been $1,008) I made made calls to Dell (better known as India!!!) with no results. Then I e-mailed Dell... No results, then finally, a certified letter!
Dell finally corrected the bill, which by now was past the 90 day "interest-free period" and had now accrued $50.46 in interest (from my trying to correct the $38.84 overcharge). I filed a complaint with the N.J. Dept. Of Consumer Affairs. Dell agreed to pay the original $38.84 plus the $50.46 interest to Dell Financial Services a.K.A. CIT Bank. I then sent them a check for the $1,008 for the computer. Here it is, months later & I'm still being billed for accruing interest.
I am being needlessly charged money for THEIR mistakes... Not mine!!!
