I attempt to sign up for a Netzero account on July 24th. On my first attempt, I was unable to get on. I called tech support and a very polite gentlemen assisted me in setting up my computer. He informed me there would be no charge as I was a new customer. I made a second attempt to sign on and it failed. I called technical support again and informed them I was a new member trying to get on. A very brusque gentleman disputed that and proceed to rush me through a second set up. After getting off the line, I tried again and failed. The next day I called and cancelled my account.
I have been charged $31.20 in technical support for an account I never used for just attempting to get connected. I was charged $14.95 for a month's worth of service I never got and when I called billing at 866-841-1442 I was told it would take a couple of billing cycles (theirs I guess) before the credit card would be credited. It only took a day to put the charges on!
I intend to contact my credit card company to block any future charges! This is a very disreputable way to do business! I was able to sign up with Acme internet service (Cheers for Wylie Coyote) for a lesser price and have received good services to date.
