MWI Homeworks
Ripoff Stole money directly from my account with no authorization! Must have gotten info from AOL.!

I just realized I've been getting billed for $14.95 a month for the last six months by a company named MWI homeworks. This company claims that my wife or myself (or anyone else that may have wandered through my house and used my computer) clicked on an offer for big savings on home products from Home Depot, Lowe's, Lillian Vernon, etc. And that we took the offer for a $25 dollar free gift card to Lowe's just for signing up. This deal was supposedly free for the first thirty days, then the company charges the 14.95 after this wonderful trial period.

The only problem with this is that neither myself or my wife had signed up for this. I called to find out what these charges were for and the bank gave me the # that wound up being MWI homeworks.

I called them and that's when they explained my paragraph one. At that point, I had only seen charges for 4 of the six months, I was still looking for older statements. I called them and told them I wanted my money back for these four months and that they could count on me to call back if I dug deeper into my statements for more charges from their company. The person I spoke with said that was fine and kept trying to get off the line with me.

I then thought to ask when I supposedly signed up for this wonderful offer, and he told me "three months prior to the first incident I had of the billing"."So I could assume I had been billed for those months as well?", I asked. "No", he replied, "just two of those three, the first thirty days was free". Then he said he would give me 6 refunds in the amount of 14.95 each. One for each month I was billed. I know this will take two days before I see it so I can't tell if they are lying to me or not about this. I'll have to wait and see.

This is unacceptable. I' ve researched other incidents of this online at other websites before writing this and found it clearly was all related to my being an AOL member. The MWI company would not have received any of my financial billing information if I was not an AOL member and all the other incidents occurred with AOL members as well. They're both to blame. I find this behavior on both companies to be completely unprofessional and most likely illegal. Please help to stop this as I'm sure it is still happening to other AOL members. I will be switching my ISP soon.
